Furniture Design/Production Supervisor

About the role

The Furniture Design/Production Supervisor oversees the end‑to‑end local fabrication and outsourced production of custom‑made furniture, ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance, and technical precision.

Key responsibilities

• Translate design concepts into detailed technical production packages, including AutoCAD/SolidWorks shop drawings, Bill of Materials and hardware specifications.
• Identify, vet and onboard local third‑party furniture manufacturers, negotiate timelines, costs and quality SLAs.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for external partners, conduct on‑site inspections at critical fabrication stages and enforce strict quality control.
• Track production schedules across multiple vendors, coordinate final inspections, packaging and logistics to ensure on‑time delivery.

Required profile

• Higher Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Wood Technology, Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Fine Art or equivalent.
• 4–6 years of technical quality control, contract manufacturing management or senior workshop supervision within the regional furniture ecosystem.
• Proven experience dealing with regional suppliers is a distinct advantage.

Required skills

• Expert use of Pin/Pinless Wood Moisture Meters (10%–12% threshold).
• Digital Calipers & Micrometers for precise measurement of metal gauges, board thicknesses and edge‑banding.
• Coating Thickness Gauges for testing paint, lacquer and powder‑coating thickness.
• Lux Meters / Surface Comparators for evaluating finish uniformity and color matching.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks for creating detailed shop drawings.
