Granite and Marble Technician

About the role

The Granite and Marble Technician works full‑time on site in Kampala, measuring, cutting, polishing and installing granite, marble and quartz surfaces for a variety of projects such as kitchen worktops, staircases, floors, walls and custom installations. The role requires close collaboration with supervisors and clients to ensure each project meets the company’s high standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings and layout plans.
• Prepare substrates, level surfaces and fix stone slabs securely.
• Cut, polish and finish edges and joints to a high standard.
• Handle, transport and store stone slabs safely on site.
• Inspect completed work for quality and address any defects.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with measuring, cutting, polishing and installing stone materials.
• Ability to read technical drawings and take accurate measurements.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork orientation.

Required skills

• Use of hand and power tools for stone fabrication.
• Surface preparation, leveling, fixing, sealing and edge finishing.
• Safe material handling, lifting and transporting of heavy slabs.
• Reading technical drawings and layout marking.
