About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Uganda is seeking a Grants and Partnership Coordinator to lead the strategic and operational management of its partnerships portfolio and grant functions. Based in Kampala, you will work closely with program teams, donors, and external partners to ensure effective, equitable collaborations that advance IRC’s humanitarian mission.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and oversee partnership management procedures aligned with the PEERS framework.
- Analyze local civil‑society, government and private sector capacities to define IRC’s added value and inform partnership decisions.
- Lead the full sub‑award lifecycle: partner identification, due‑diligence, agreement drafting, implementation monitoring and close‑out.
- Coordinate pre‑award processes, risk assessments and compliance checks for new sub‑awards.
- Manage a team of Grants Managers, a Partnership Manager and a Senior Partnership Officer, reporting to the Program Quality and Accountability Advisor.
- Provide business development support in line with the Business Development Strategy.
Required profile
- Proven experience in grant management, partnership development or related humanitarian program coordination.
- Strong analytical skills to assess partner capacities and risks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
- Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and travel to field sites as needed.
Required skills
- Experience with grant management systems, specifically GAIN (Grants & Awards Information Navigator).
