Head of Commercial Strategy and Execution, Uganda

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking a senior commercial leader to design and execute its commercial vision in Uganda. You will bridge high‑level strategy with rural implementation, overseeing market access for cash crops and the organization’s input retail operations.

Key responsibilities

• Define a 3‑5‑year commercial roadmap, conducting value‑chain analyses to determine strategic focus areas.
• Build and manage a pipeline of commercial pilots, scaling successful models country‑wide.
• Oversee end‑to‑end execution of crop buybacks and input sales, ensuring product quality and efficient last‑mile distribution.
• Own the P&L, driving revenue growth, margin optimisation, and capital allocation.
• Lead partnership development with buyers, processors and distributors, representing the organisation at external events.
• Directly manage two work‑stream leads, fostering a high‑performing commercial team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial strategy, P&L ownership and market‑access initiatives.
• Strong track record of scaling pilots into full‑country programs.
• Demonstrated ability to build strategic partnerships across agribusiness value chains.
• People‑management experience with a focus on developing high‑performing teams.
