Head of Site Security

About the role

TotalEnergies EP Uganda is looking for a Head of Site Security for its operational site in Bulisa, Uganda, working on a rotational basis. The project is in a highly sensitive area (Murchison Falls National Park, along the River Nile and the Lake Albert Delta Ramsar Site), which brings significant security challenges, including VPSHR-specific risks. The role reports to the Construction Manager with a matrix line to the Country Security Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Apply the company's security policy at the site and ensure compliance with the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights, including training contractors and security forces (UPDF, Police, Oil & Gas Police)
• Advise the Project Site Representative on security matters, focusing on operations
• Develop site-level security policies, procedures and plans, and implement a multilayer physical protection system
• Implement the company security plan, site security plan and standard operating procedures
• Liaise with government security forces, agencies, parastatals and local institutions, and coordinate with contractors' security organizations
• Update emergency response, crisis management, evacuation and business continuity plans with the security manager
• Carry out security risk, threat and vulnerability assessments for existing and new assets
• Manage and coordinate security supervisors across the operation, and run regular internal reviews, surveys and audits
• Organize the project and community intelligence network, liaise with Community Liaison Officers and monitor the strategic surveillance network
• Ensure security incidents are reported, traced and addressed, and write periodic reports
• Help prepare the site budget, assist with security infrastructure requirements and take part in pre-commissioning activities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent
• Minimum 8 years of experience in security (private security companies, army or police)
• Middle management experience in a multinational corporation environment
• Experience in industrial facility security is preferred
