Inspection Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Inspection Supervisor to support a major oil & gas development in Buliisa, Uganda. The role involves planning, supervising and performing site inspection and corrosion activities, ensuring safety and compliance with procedures, codes and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate site inspection activities with Production, Maintenance, HSE and other teams.
• Supervise inspection and corrosion activities across pressure systems, piping, pipelines and other equipment.
• Support baseline inspection preparation and execution, coordinating with construction, commissioning and NDT teams.
• Plan and manage third‑party inspection contractors.
• Ensure compliance with inspection procedures, schedules and applicable codes and standards.
• Follow up Pressure Safety Device certification and inspection results, and escalate critical asset integrity findings.
• Support Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIMS) and Tank Integrity Management System (TIMS).
• Develop and train local inspection personnel and junior supervisors.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in oil & gas inspection, with at least 6 years in multi‑discipline inspection.
• Strong knowledge of inspection codes, standards and asset integrity management.
• Excellent leadership, communication and coordination skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Nondestructive Testing (NDT) techniques and certifications.
• Welding inspection and corrosion assessment.
• Inspection of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pipelines and lifting equipment.
• Familiarity with SAP and Risk‑Based Inspection (RBI) systems.
• Knowledge of international oil & gas inspection codes (e.g., API, ASME).
