Invigilator for Examination Services

About the role

The British Council seeks reliable invigilators to support secure and efficient delivery of its examinations in Jinja and other venues as required. Assignments are on a non‑permanent, assignment‑by‑assignment basis, aligned with the examination schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Attend the designated examination venue on time and prepare the room according to the Test Day Supervisor’s instructions.
• Monitor candidates throughout the exam, enforce examination conditions, and report any malpractice or security concerns.
• Handle examination materials securely, complete attendance logs, incident reports and other required documentation.
• Provide candidates with clear information, manage entry/exit procedures, identity checks and support any special access arrangements.
• Follow all British Council and examination‑board security, data‑protection, safeguarding and health‑and‑safety protocols.

Required profile

• Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain confidentiality.
• Good communication skills for interacting with candidates and supervisors.
• Willingness to attend assignments on weekdays, weekends or public holidays as needed.
