Lead Generator – Universal Retail & Agent Banking (Northern Region)

About the role

The Lead Generator role supports Absa’s growth in the Northern Region of Uganda (Gulu, Arua & Lira) by driving sales of consumer lending, retail asset and liability products. The position combines proactive business development with existing customers and recruitment of new customers, while also providing support to agents operating in the area.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver sales and service to retail banking customers, aiming to meet or exceed set sales targets.
• Generate high‑quality leads, follow up diligently, and convert leads into approved loan or deposit applications.
• Prepare and submit completed application forms in line with bank policies and review procedures.
• Ensure compliance with operational risk, health & safety, KYC and anti‑money‑laundering regulations.
• Provide timely customer service, resolve queries and complaints, and escalate unresolved issues to the line manager.
• Collaborate with internal teams (operations, KYC helpdesk, credit unit) to ensure swift processing of applications and escalated matters.

Required profile

• Proactive attitude with a strong focus on achieving sales targets.
• Willingness and ability to travel across a wide geographic area and engage customers remotely when needed.
• Excellent communication skills for building relationships with both customers and agents.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with internal service providers.
• Understanding of banking products, KYC, and AML requirements.
