Local Content Apprentice (Communications) – Kampala

About the role

AGL, a multimodal logistics operator part of the MSC Group, is re-advertising a temporary Local Content Apprentice position in Kampala, Uganda. Local content promotes the use of local people, businesses, goods, services and skills development within a project or industry, and the apprentice supports the implementation and monitoring of local content initiatives. The role suits recent graduates or early-career professionals interested in stakeholder engagement, data management, reporting, supplier development and workforce nationalization.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in collecting, tracking and analysing local content data and performance indicators.
• Help prepare local content reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain records of local suppliers, contractors and workforce statistics.
• Take part in community, education and skills development initiatives.
• Support the coordination of training, internship, apprenticeship and mentorship programmes.
• Monitor compliance with local content regulations and contractual commitments.
• Engage with local businesses, educational institutions and community stakeholders.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for local content activities and events.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or final-year student in Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, Law, Human Resource Management, Development Studies, Procurement or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Interest in the Energy, Oil & Gas, Petroleum, Transport and Logistics sectors, and in economic development, workforce and supplier development and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Good analytical and reporting abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Desired: eagerness to learn, attention to detail, teamwork, organization and time management.
