Maintenance & Repair (M&R) Supervisor

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Maintenance & Repair (M&R) Supervisor in Kampala, Uganda. The supervisor oversees maintenance and repair activities on non-truck vehicles, wheeled heavy equipment, mechanized heavy equipment and off-highway equipment, ensuring equipment reliability and operational readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and repair work on NTVE, WHE, MHE and OHE, keeping it aligned with manufacturer specifications.
• Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose complex equipment issues, troubleshoot malfunctions and choose effective repair methods.
• Lead a team of mechanics and technicians, giving guidance, training and performance supervision.
• Monitor the repair workflow, assign resources to priority tasks and resolve delays.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage and equipment performance.
• Enforce safety standards, operational procedures and environmental regulations, and require PPE use.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment for proper repair quality and operational readiness.
• Manage inventory of tools, consumables and spare parts, and coordinate with other supervisors and departments.

Required profile

• Two years of journeyman-level experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair, preferably NTVE, WHE, MHE or OHE.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport valid for at least one year at hire, and ability to obtain country-specific visas and pass contract medical requirements.
• Ability to speak, read and understand English well enough to perform the contract duties.
• Preferred: certification or training in automotive or equipment repair, and experience supervising maintenance teams in military, government or industrial settings.

Required skills

• Hands-on knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems and their diagnostic and repair tools.
• Ability to interpret manufacturer manuals, schematics and repair documentation.
• Organizational and problem-solving skills to manage multiple repair tasks.
