Manager Operations Uganda

About the role

Glovo, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is looking for a Manager Operations for Uganda. The role ensures Glovo operates smoothly and sustainably across the Ugandan market, leading operational excellence through data analysis, improvement initiatives and strong operating models that support customer experience, courier wellbeing and partner success.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse operational data to find trends and root causes, then turn insights into action plans that improve delivery time, rider efficiency and cost performance
• Hire, manage and develop a high-performing Operations team, setting expectations, ownership and growth paths
• Own operational performance metrics end-to-end, keeping courier supply balanced and delivery experience strong
• Standardise scalable operating models across cities, covering supply readiness for seasonality, growth and operational shifts
• Work with General Managers and the Head of Supply Africa as a strategic partner, and with global operations and cross-functional teams to roll out new tools, processes and product launches
• Build relationships with courier communities and third-party fleet partners

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience in fast-paced environments such as operations, consulting, logistics, marketplace ops or similar
• Managerial experience leading and developing teams, coaching and building a culture of ownership
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Economics, Business or a related field; an MBA or equivalent is a strong plus
• Experience creating and tracking KPIs, delegating teams and aligning stakeholders (Commercial, Legal, Partner & Courier Ops, Product)
• English at B2+ level, written and verbal

Required skills

• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making; comfortable with dashboards, pivot tables and SQL or advanced Excel is a plus
• Negotiation with external partners and clear communication of Glovo's value proposition
• Hands-on approach, resilience under shifting priorities and people-centred leadership
