Manager, Water Chlorination Innovation

About the role

Evidence Action is seeking a Manager to lead its Water Chlorination Innovation team under the Safe Water Now program. Based in Mbale, Uganda, you will build and guide a dedicated team that pilots and scales In‑Line Chlorination (ILC) technology to provide safe drinking water across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary Innovation team.
• Design and execute rapid field pilots to test device performance, cost reductions, and community engagement strategies.
• Analyze pilot data to identify scalable improvements and develop implementation plans.
• Collaborate with country teams in Uganda, Kenya, and the global team in the United States to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
• Lead the transition of successful pilots into broader program rollout across existing and new geographies.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience managing innovation or research projects in water, sanitation, or public‑health contexts.
• Proven ability to work in low‑resource settings and navigate multi‑country collaborations.
• Strong leadership, team‑building, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities to translate findings into actionable program changes.
