About the role
The post holder will lead a portfolio of health improvement programmes within a defined locality or topic area, aiming to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities in line with NHS Lanarkshire’s strategic priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, deliver and monitor health improvement plans and programmes that address local health needs.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with internal NHS teams and external stakeholders to co‑produce evidence‑based interventions.
- Provide leadership, training and advice to colleagues and partner agencies on public health principles.
- Oversee day‑to‑day management of Health Improvement Practitioners, including work allocation and prioritisation.
- Contribute to policy implementation, budget monitoring and reporting on programme performance.
Required profile
- Degree‑level qualification, with postgraduate study or equivalent experience in health improvement, health promotion or public health.
- Registration or working towards UKPHR Practitioner Registration.
- Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence.
- Demonstrated knowledge of public health competencies and relevant national policies.
