About the role
The MEAL Consortium Team Lead provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) across the FCDO RESET consortium in Uganda. The role designs and leads a harmonised, high‑quality MEAL system that ensures data integrity, robust evidence generation, accountability to affected populations, and adaptive programming.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement and continuously improve a consortium‑wide MEAL framework aligned with donor requirements.
- Coordinate MEAL activities with all consortium partners, ensuring consistent data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Embed MEAL processes into programme design, implementation and decision‑making to enable real‑time learning.
- Oversee data management, quality assurance and the production of evidence‑based reports for donors and stakeholders.
- Lead accountability mechanisms to affected populations, including feedback and grievance systems.
- Supervise and mentor MEAL staff and provide technical guidance to partners.
- Manage the development and use of monitoring tools, surveys and qualitative methods.
- Ensure compliance with FCDO and humanitarian standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading MEAL functions in humanitarian or development programmes.
- Strong understanding of multi‑partner consortium dynamics and donor compliance.
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
- Familiarity with refugee response, cash‑first programming and accountability to affected persons.
- Ability to work effectively in Uganda’s refugee settlement context.
