About the role

The MIS Associate is the primary data operator for field and partner operations, ensuring data quality, up‑to‑date databases and real‑time dashboards for programme performance. Reporting to the Regional MIS Manager, the role is hands‑on and technical, with a focus on accuracy under deadline pressure.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive, verify and clean daily data submissions from manufacturing partners, maintaining a verification queue with a 72‑hour turnaround.
  • Update partner databases, generate scheduled extracts and maintain version control.
  • Support design, testing and deployment of ODK/KoboToolbox forms and clean monitoring datasets.
  • Compile documentation for internal and third‑party audits and flag data anomalies against project targets.
  • Provide first‑line technical support to field enumerators and partners on ODK/KoboToolbox submissions and deliver training refreshers when needed.
  • Maintain real‑time dashboards and produce weekly performance reports for senior leadership.

Required profile

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or related field (or relevant diploma with 1 year experience).
  • 1–2 years experience in data management, MIS or M&E, preferably in an NGO or development context in Uganda.
  • Strong attention to detail, independent troubleshooting ability and disciplined deadline management.

Required skills

  • Advanced Google Sheets/Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation, array formulas).
  • Hands‑on experience building or troubleshooting ODK or KoboToolbox forms (XLSForm design).
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Forms) and version control.
  • Experience maintaining live dashboards (Google Looker Studio, Tableau or Power BI).

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and health insurance.
  • Sick and annual leave in line with Uganda Employment Act.
  • Professional development and structured training in MIS tools.
  • Performance‑based incentives linked to KPI achievements.
