Operations and Settlement Manager – Uganda

About the role

Mamoru is building a cutting‑edge trading operation for FX, bonds and digital assets in Uganda. We are seeking an experienced Operations and Settlement Manager to lead the middle and back‑office functions, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive efficient settlement processes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the trading desk, monitor market movements and provide analysis.
• Ensure compliance with local policies and regulatory guidelines for FX, bonds and digital‑asset transactions.
• Develop and implement operational policies to improve efficiency, security and customer satisfaction.
• Manage settlement processes, reconcile trade confirmations, verify payment instructions and resolve discrepancies.
• Liaise with banks, payment service providers and other external partners for FX and cross‑border payments.
• Monitor risk exposure, set limits, track positions and report breaches or incidents.
• Maintain accurate records of transactions, reports and audits.
• Train and supervise staff on operational best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in FX or bond trading, payments operations or a similar role, preferably in a leadership capacity.
• Strong knowledge of Uganda’s FX, bonds and digital‑banking regulatory environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• High integrity, professionalism and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with trading platforms, tools and related software.
