Operations Manager Uganda

About the role

Glovo, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is looking for an Operations Manager in Uganda. The role ensures the platform operates smoothly and sustainably across the Ugandan market, improving delivery experience, balancing supply capacity and building operating models that support growth. It works closely with General Managers and the Head of Supply Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse operational data to find trends and root causes, then turn insights into action plans that improve delivery time, rider efficiency and cost performance
• Hire, manage and develop a high-performing Operations team, setting expectations, ownership and growth paths
• Own operational performance metrics end-to-end, ensuring strong courier supply balance, delivery experience and partner operations
• Standardise scalable operating models across cities, covering supply readiness for seasonality, business growth and operational shifts
• Work with General Managers and the Head of Supply Africa on key decisions and market priorities
• Collaborate with global operations and cross-functional teams to roll out new tools, processes and product launches
• Build relationships with courier communities and third-party fleet partners

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience in fast-paced environments such as operations, consulting, logistics, marketplace operations or similar
• Managerial experience leading and developing teams, with coaching and motivation skills
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Economics, Business or a related field; an MBA or equivalent is a strong plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills
• English at B2+ level, written and verbal
• Hands-on approach, resilience and a proactive, people-centred leadership style

Required skills

• Comfortable with dashboards, pivot tables and data analysis; SQL or advanced Excel is a plus
• Experience creating and tracking KPIs, delegating teams and aligning stakeholders across commercial, legal, partner and courier operations, product and others
• Confidence in negotiating with external partners and communicating Glovo's value proposition
