Partnerships and Grants Manager

About the role

The Partnerships and Grants Manager will lead the grants and partnerships portfolio of a Sudan crisis localisation fund. Reporting to senior leadership, the role ensures strategic direction, compliance, and quality across the full grants lifecycle while supervising specialist staff.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage grant application processes, including guidelines, templates and evaluation criteria.
• Lead due‑diligence and vetting of partner organisations to meet donor and fund standards.
• Prepare and administer grant agreements and amendments in coordination with the Fund Management Unit.
• Design and oversee capacity‑building programmes for partners on grants management, compliance and reporting.
• Oversee the Fund’s grant management system, ensuring it meets partner needs.
• Coordinate with the Operations Manager to streamline fund disbursements, financial tracking and risk management.
• Monitor grant implementation, ensuring timely and quality financial and narrative reporting.
• Maintain the Fund risk register and dashboard, flagging high‑risk areas and escalating issues to the Fund Director.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in grants or partnership management.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, risk management and financial tracking.
• Experience supervising and mentoring staff.
• Ability to design and deliver capacity‑building initiatives for partner organisations.
