Pool Driver (Transportation Services)

About the role

We are looking for a responsible, safety‑conscious Pool Driver to provide reliable transportation for staff, clients and official visitors in Jinja and surrounding areas. The role involves operating a company vehicle, delivering documents, cash and parcels, and supporting various administrative errands.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate the assigned vehicle in line with traffic laws, company policies and road‑safety regulations.
• Transport staff, clients and authorized visitors to designated locations on time.
• Deliver and collect cash, official documents, parcels and goods, ensuring secure handling and timely delivery.
• Load, transport and off‑load goods carefully to prevent loss or damage.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections, report faults and coordinate routine servicing and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, mileage, fuel consumption and maintenance records.
• Plan efficient travel routes using GPS navigation.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive materials.
• Support other departments with transport‑related errands as needed.

Required profile

• Valid Ugandan driving permit with appropriate classes.
• Minimum 3 years professional driving experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or equivalent.
• Clean driving record with no serious traffic offences.
• Good knowledge of routes within Jinja and surrounding areas.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with smartphone and GPS navigation (Google Maps).
