Principal – Nursing & Midwifery School

About the role

The Principal will provide strategic, academic and administrative leadership to Alice Anume Memorial School of Nursing and Midwifery, ensuring excellence in competency‑based training, regulatory compliance and the production of competent, ethical health professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead institutional planning, growth and quality assurance initiatives.
• Oversee curriculum development and delivery for competency‑based training (CBT) and TVET programmes.
• Ensure compliance with professional regulatory bodies and accreditation standards.
• Drive research, innovation and resource management across the school.
• Foster stakeholder engagement and maintain high ethical standards.
• Utilise ICT and digital information systems to support academic and administrative functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, midwifery or medical education, plus a postgraduate diploma in medical education, or a related Master’s degree.
• Valid practicing licence from the relevant professional council.
• Minimum 10 years experience in nursing or health professional education, with at least 3 years in senior leadership.
• Demonstrated strategic and transformational leadership, institutional planning and financial management skills.
• High professional integrity and strong communication abilities.

Required skills

• ICT proficiency.
• Use of digital technologies for education management.
• Experience with institutional information management systems.
