Programme Analyst – Coordination & Women’s Economic Empowerment

About the role

The Programme Analyst – Coordination and Women’s Economic Empowerment will be based in Moroto, Uganda, supporting UN Women’s efforts to strengthen gender equality and women’s empowerment across the Karamoja region. The role focuses on inter‑agency coordination, technical support for gender mainstreaming, and management of women’s economic empowerment programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Support inter‑agency coordination activities and represent UN Women in coordination forums, working groups, and meetings.
• Promote integration of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE) priorities across UN, government, humanitarian, and development initiatives.
• Provide technical support on gender mainstreaming, Gender in Humanitarian Action (GiHA), and women’s economic empowerment, including identifying capacity gaps and delivering training or mentoring.
• Develop technical tools, guidance, and capacity‑building materials to strengthen institutional capacity for gender‑responsive planning.
• Design, implement, and manage Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) programmes, contributing to proposals, strategy documents, advocacy materials, and knowledge products.
• Coordinate narrative and financial reporting of implementing partners and support programme reviews, evaluations, and Results‑Based Management (RBM) processes.

Required profile

• Experience in inter‑agency coordination and gender mainstreaming.
• Background in designing and managing women’s economic empowerment programmes.
• Ability to work with diverse partners including government, UN agencies, civil society, donors, and the private sector.
