MEAL Officer (SHINE Project) – National Position

About the role

The MEAL Officer will lead monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities for the UNICEF SHINE project in Karamoja. Based in Moroto, the role ensures that project outputs, outcomes and impact are documented accurately and on time, supporting evidence‑based decision‑making and stakeholder accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the MEAL framework for the SHINE project, tracking indicators and documenting results.
• Identify data gaps, design data collection tools and ensure high‑quality data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Produce regular MERL reports for UNICEF and internal stakeholders, highlighting lessons learned.
• Support project staff in integrating MEAL findings into program design and implementation.
• Maintain the project’s MEAL database and ensure data integrity.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary education (e.g., Development Studies, Social Sciences, Statistics).
• Experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning within humanitarian or development projects.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and travel within the project area.
