Programme Analyst – Coordination & Women’s Economic Empowerment

About the role

The Programme Analyst – Coordination and Women’s Economic Empowerment will be based in Moroto, Uganda, supporting UN Women’s efforts to strengthen gender equality and women’s empowerment across the Karamoja region. The role focuses on inter‑agency coordination, technical support for gender mainstreaming, and the design and management of women’s economic empowerment programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate inter‑agency coordination activities, representing UN Women in forums, working groups and meetings to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment.
• Promote integration of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE) priorities across UN, government, humanitarian and development initiatives.
• Provide technical support on gender mainstreaming, Gender in Humanitarian Action (GiHA) and women’s economic empowerment, identifying capacity gaps and coordinating training and mentoring.
• Develop technical tools, guidance and capacity‑building materials to strengthen institutional capacity for gender‑responsive planning.
• Design, implement and manage Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) programmes, contributing to proposals, strategy documents, advocacy materials and knowledge products.
• Coordinate narrative and financial reporting of implementing partners, support programme reviews, evaluations and Results‑Based Management (RBM) processes.

Required profile

• Experience in coordinating multi‑stakeholder initiatives related to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
• Knowledge of gender mainstreaming, GiHA and women’s economic empowerment concepts.
• Proven ability to develop technical guidance, training materials and capacity‑building interventions.
• Experience in programme design, implementation, monitoring, reporting and results‑based management.
• Strong partnership development and resource mobilisation skills.
