Project Accountant

About the role

The Project Accountant will support the Senior Finance Advisor in managing the finances of TechnoServe’s GROWTH program in Uganda. This role ensures accurate financial tracking, compliance, and efficient use of project funds to drive impact for smallholder farmers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the project.
• Enter and reconcile financial data, track expenses, and maintain up‑to‑date records.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external financial regulations.
• Support audit processes and prepare required documentation.
• Manage payments, cash flow, and vendor invoices.
• Collaborate with project teams to improve financial processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Relevant accounting or finance qualification.
• Experience in project accounting, preferably in the development or non‑profit sector.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets.
• Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and audit procedures.
