Project Coordinator for GREEN NTFP Development Project

About the role

The Project Coordinator will lead the 28‑month GREEN Project, overseeing delivery of sustainable non‑timber forest product (NTFP) enterprises across Eastern Uganda. Reporting to the Programmes Director/Country Director, the role ensures the project meets its technical, financial and compliance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic and technical leadership for the GREEN Project, ensuring alignment with the approved proposal, logical framework and budget.
• Manage programme implementation, translating the action plan into detailed annual, quarterly and monthly schedules and maintaining the critical path.
• Serve as GOAL’s principal operational focal point with AICS, coordinating progress meetings, reporting and compliance with grant contracts.
• Oversee partnership management, including coordination with co‑applicants, third‑party implementers, consultants and service providers.
• Maintain a project risk register and ensure mitigation actions are implemented.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Management, Business Administration, Development Studies, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in agriculture, NTFP or market development, with at least 5 years at senior technical level.
• Proven experience managing complex, multi‑partner programmes, budgets and procurement in Uganda or East Africa.
• Strong people‑management and leadership skills, including supervision, coaching and performance management.
