Senior Standards & Compliance Officer – Agriculture Education (Agronomy)

About the role

The Senior Standards and Compliance Officer will lead the development, monitoring and enforcement of national TVET standards for agriculture education and training. The role supports industry‑based assurance, conducts audits and inspections, and ensures that TVET providers meet approved standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, validate and periodically review national TVET standards for institutions, programmes, trainers, facilities and assessment systems.
• Plan and conduct institutional audits, compliance assessments and inspections, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Support TVET providers in interpreting standards, creating improvement plans and implementing self‑assessment frameworks.
• Engage with industry stakeholders, professional bodies and regulators to align standards with national and regional frameworks.
• Maintain accurate records, update national databases and generate compliance statistics for reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture education and training; Master’s degree in a related field is an advantage.
• Minimum six years of relevant post‑bachelor experience, including at least three years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of the TVET Act, regulations and competency‑based training systems.
• Excellent analytical, inspection and report‑writing abilities with high integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Basic database management skills.
