Project Coordinator – Plastic Circularity Initiative

About the role

The Project Coordinator will lead the implementation of a Coca‑Cola Foundation‑funded project that aims to increase circularity in Uganda’s plastic value chain, integrate marginalized waste collectors, and create safer, decent jobs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, monitor and adapt all project activities in Uganda, ensuring they meet contractual objectives and targets.
• Coordinate field‑level work with Ecoplastile, the local private‑sector partner, and maintain collaboration with stakeholders in Kampala and the Southwestern regions.
• Oversee annual planning, budgeting and financial reporting, holding full accountability to DRC.
• Facilitate partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, community leaders and other recycling companies.
• Represent DRC in public forums, technical working groups and liaison between field and head office.
• Participate in joint progress reviews with Kenyan and Ugandan teams, adjusting implementation plans as needed.

Required profile

• Highly qualified and motivated individual with experience in environmental or livelihoods projects.
• Strong leadership and coordination skills to manage multi‑stakeholder collaborations.
• Ability to work across borders with teams in Uganda and Kenya.
• Excellent communication skills for public representation and reporting.
