Poultry Farm Attendant

About the role

Nutrena Poultry Farm Limited is hiring four Poultry Farm Attendants in Kamwokya, Uganda. The successful candidates will look after the day-to-day care of the poultry flock, keeping the birds healthy and the farm clean and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Feed the poultry and make sure there is always a supply of clean drinking water.
• Monitor bird health, behaviour, growth and general welfare.
• Identify sick birds and unusual deaths and report them to the farm supervisor.
• Keep poultry houses and surrounding areas clean and hygienic.
• Follow biosecurity procedures, including disinfectants, footbaths and protective clothing.
• Collect and handle eggs where applicable.
• Assist with vaccination, medication, weighing and other routine tasks under supervision.
• Check feeders, drinkers and other equipment and report faults.
• Keep farm records as assigned by the supervisor.
• Help with litter management, waste disposal and general farm duties.

Required profile

• A certificate in Agriculture from a recognised institution.
• A strong interest in poultry farming and livestock management.
• Ability to follow farm instructions, maintain hygiene and observe biosecurity.
• Good discipline, honesty, teamwork and commitment to work.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
