About the role
The AFGHS-FHI 360 Uganda Project Director provides overall leadership, management and strategic direction for the AFGHS-FHI 360 project in Uganda, overseeing the HIV and Global Health Security portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Direct overall project vision, design, planning and implementation to meet goals within contractual timelines.
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with government entities, implementing partners and donors.
- Lead the country project team, ensuring clear priorities, effective teamwork and professional development.
- Coordinate with FHI 360 headquarters on work plans, budgets and milestone reporting.
- Oversee monitoring, evaluation, risk management and compliance with donor requirements.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in project management for health programs, preferably in HIV, GHS or related fields.
- Strong consultative, negotiation and communication skills with senior government and donor officials.
- Proven ability to motivate teams, manage budgets and deliver results in complex environments.
Required skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management theories, concepts and practices.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving for resource planning and risk mitigation.
