About the role
The Senior Accountant will lead financial management at Uganda Christian University, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and effective use of resources.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and final financial reports in line with law and university policies.
- Oversee asset register management, payroll preparation, and statutory deductions.
- Supervise revenue and expenditure of college projects, adjust journals, and ensure readiness for external audit.
- Manage fixed assets register, bank transactions, and staff appraisal processes.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Finance & Accounting, Commerce (Accounting) or Business Administration (Accounting).
- At least 5 years of financial management experience, with 3 years at senior level.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA or CIMA) and membership of the respective body.
- High integrity, confidentiality, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Required skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
- Experience with financial management systems such as Pastel and SAP.
