Senior Data Officer – Ethiopia (based in Kampala)

About the role

The Senior Data Officer will support the Ethiopia mission of the REACH initiative, providing technical data expertise to sectoral and inter‑sectoral units. Based in Kampala with remote flexibility and occasional travel to Addis Ababa, the role focuses on improving data collection, management and analysis for humanitarian response.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for data‑related activities across all Ethiopia project units.
• Coordinate data collection, cleaning, validation and integration from multiple sources.
• Develop and maintain GIS datasets and spatial analysis products to inform decision‑making.
• Assist in the production of situation assessments, dashboards and maps for internal and partner use.
• Ensure data quality standards and documentation are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in data management, analysis or GIS within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel to Ethiopia as needed.

Required skills

• GIS (Geographic Information Systems) proficiency.
