Senior Manager – Business Payments & Strategic Partnerships

About the role

The Senior Manager – Business Payments & Strategic Partnerships will lead MTN Mobile Money’s B2B and B2G payment strategy in Uganda. Reporting to the Chief Products Officer, you will shape the end‑to‑end payments ecosystem, drive adoption of MoMo for Business and build strategic alliances with banks, fintechs and other ecosystem players.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the business payments strategy aligned with MTN Fintech growth objectives.
• Own the full product lifecycle for enterprise payment solutions, including collections, disbursements, payroll, bulk payments and API services.
• Drive adoption of MoMo for Business across SMEs, corporates, FMCGs, government, NGOs and other institutions.
• Develop industry‑specific propositions and value‑added services such as reconciliation tools and data insights.
• Identify, negotiate and manage strategic partnerships for remittances, interoperability and banking integration.
• Ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining scalability and simplicity of payment offerings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior product or payments management within fintech or telecom environments.
• Strong track record of building and scaling B2B payment solutions and ecosystems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Deep understanding of the Ugandan payments landscape, banking partnerships and regulatory requirements.

Required skills

• Experience with API design and integration for payment services.
• Knowledge of digital payment platforms, open‑loop and closed‑loop systems.
• Strategic partnership development and negotiation.
