Senior Software Engineer – Java Backend

About the role

As a senior member of ABC’s development team, you will design, build and maintain secure, high‑availability back‑end services that power our agent banking platform. You will work independently on complex features, mentor junior engineers and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Java EE and Spring Boot microservices, exposing RESTful APIs through managed API gateways.
• Implement integrations with internal and third‑party financial systems using synchronous and asynchronous patterns.
• Containerise applications with Docker and deploy them on Kubernetes/OpenShift, maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead technical design discussions, code reviews and architectural decisions.
• Monitor production health, troubleshoot incidents and maintain technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 3 years of back‑end development experience, with 2+ years delivering production microservices.
• Proven ability to lead design, mentor peers and work autonomously.
• Experience in fintech or financial services is a plus.
