About the role

As a Talent Scientist – Graduate Lead you will partner with academic institutions and internal stakeholders to attract and hire top graduate talent for Canonical, using data‑driven and scientific approaches.

Key responsibilities

• Build effective partnerships with leading academic institutions to raise awareness of graduate opportunities.
• Create compelling propositions to inspire top talent to apply.
• Drive talent analytics and provide real‑time insights to improve hiring efficiency.
• Conduct in‑depth behavioural interviews and train stakeholders.
• Maintain key relationships with global stakeholders and monitor hiring activities.
• Deliver data‑driven insights to support robust decision‑making.
• Consider employer brand impact on candidate experience.
• Review and streamline hiring processes and tools for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with external third‑party platforms to maximise ROI.
• Promote diversity and inclusion by removing unconscious bias from hiring.

Required profile

• Exceptional academic background with a Bachelors or Masters in Psychology or a people‑focused subject.
• Experience hiring talent in the technology industry, especially graduate hiring.
• Data‑driven mindset with ability to create measurable outcomes using SQL.
• Passion for scientific talent selection and predictive hiring methods.
• Familiarity with psychometric assessments and their interpretation.
• Experience conducting behavioural, competency‑based interviews and training stakeholders.
• High level of personal organisation and self‑drive for remote work.
• Willingness to travel to company events 2‑4 times a year.
