Senior Standards and Compliance Officer – Agriculture Education

About the role

The Senior Standards and Compliance Officer will support the development, implementation, monitoring and enforcement of national TVET standards for agriculture education and training. The role ensures that TVET providers, programmes, trainers and facilities meet approved standards and contribute to a quality‑assured, labour‑market responsive system.

Key responsibilities

• Support development, validation and periodic review of national TVET standards for institutions, programmes, trainers, facilities and assessment systems.
• Plan and conduct institutional audits, compliance assessments and inspections, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Assist TVET providers with self‑assessment, compliance improvement plans and integration of emerging technologies.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building to institutions and engage stakeholders through workshops and sensitisation sessions.
• Maintain accurate records, generate compliance statistics and prepare detailed inspection and technical reports.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, preparing unit plans and performance agreements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture education and training; Master’s degree in a related field is an advantage.
• At least six years of relevant post‑bachelor experience, including three years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with TVET systems, standards development, quality assurance, compliance monitoring or institutional audits.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Basic database management skills.
