Technical Advisor II – Climate Change & Landscape Restoration

About the role

You will provide strategic technical leadership and guidance across program design, business development, implementation, learning, and evidence generation in climate change adaptation, mitigation and landscape restoration for vulnerable communities in Uganda.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement CRS Uganda strategies, standards, tools and best practices for climate change and landscape restoration.
• Provide technical solutions to country office teams for program design, implementation and monitoring.
• Lead technical design of large proposals, including theories of change and M&E frameworks.
• Oversee strategic initiatives and discretionary‑funded investments that generate evidence and demonstrate impact.
• Build and maintain relationships with donors, partners, research institutions and government stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Climate Change, Forestry, Environmental Science, Agriculture or related field.
• Minimum eight years of relevant international experience, including at least three years in climate change adaptation/mitigation or landscape restoration.
• Proven experience in business development, proposal writing and securing donor funding.
• Strong analytical, strategic and systems‑thinking abilities.
• Fluent English; working knowledge of local language is a plus.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with web‑conferencing applications and budget management systems.
• Knowledge‑sharing network tools.
• Technical expertise in climate change adaptation, mitigation and landscape restoration.
