Senior Technical Officer – Case Management

About the role

The Senior Technical Officer will provide technical and operational leadership for case‑management services during disease outbreaks and public‑health emergencies, working closely with response teams and health facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Ebola virus disease (EVD) case‑management activities in treatment centres and supported facilities.
• Facilitate information sharing, capacity building and training, maintaining up‑to‑date contact lists.
• Support implementation of SOPs, clinical protocols and treatment algorithms, including clinical assessment and supportive care.
• Ensure strict infection‑prevention and control (IPC) measures, PPE use, hand hygiene and safe waste management.
• Coordinate capacity‑building activities, update training materials and mentor frontline teams.
• Prepare accurate case‑management reports, dashboards and technical updates for daily and weekly reporting.

Required profile

• At least three years of relevant experience in clinical care, public health or humanitarian health programming, with a minimum of two years in outbreak preparedness or response.
• Demonstrated experience in case management for epidemic‑prone diseases such as Ebola, Marburg, mpox, cholera or COVID‑19.
• Experience working with Ministry of Health, district health teams and emergency‑response partners in Uganda.
