Software Engineer – Network Reporting & Inspection

About the role

Huawei Uganda is seeking experienced Software Engineers to develop and maintain reporting solutions and network inspection tools for its telecom infrastructure in Kampala. The role focuses on generating operational reports, diagnosing network faults, and delivering risk response solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Generate reports based on frontline requirements covering network availability, SLA, KPI, faults, changes, and workload.
• Develop and implement comprehensive network inspection plans and risk response solutions.
• Perform fault locating, including initial diagnosis, database checks, in‑depth analysis, and resolution.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers to apply best practices and elevate technology.
• Communicate effectively with customers to clarify issues and provide solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Relevant experience as a Software Engineer.

Required skills

• Network and infrastructure knowledge.
• SQL database proficiency.
• Linux operating system experience.
• Familiarity with OCS (Online Charging System).
• Understanding of Mobile Money platforms.
