Special Education Teacher – Special Assignment (2026/2027)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher on Special Assignment for the 2026/2027 school year. The position will support students with mild to moderate disabilities, delivering individualized instruction and collaborating with classroom teams to ensure inclusive learning environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Provide direct instruction and support in both general and specialized classroom settings.
• Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to monitor student progress.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation required by district and state regulations.
• Participate in professional development and district meetings related to special education.

Required profile

• Valid Special Education Credential or Education Specialist Instruction Credential – Mild/Moderate.
• Letter of introduction and current resume.
• For external candidates: transcript copy, English Learner Authorization, and three recent letters of recommendation.
• Commitment to inclusive education and adherence to district non‑discrimination policies.

Required skills

• Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and instructional strategies for mild to moderate disabilities.
