Specialist - Products Quality Assurance & Testing

About the role

MTN Mobile Money Uganda is hiring a Specialist in Products Quality Assurance & Testing, reporting to the Manager – Product Delivery within the Products & Services division. The role ensures that digital financial products are delivered with high reliability, security and customer confidence, through structured, risk-based testing across the product lifecycle. It works closely with Product, Engineering, UX, Security and Operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute quality assurance activities from requirements through release and post-launch support
• Perform functional, integration, regression, UAT and end-to-end testing of digital financial products
• Validate critical fintech scenarios such as transaction failures, reversals, retries, reconciliations and exception handling
• Support testing of digital wallets, payments, lending, cards, APIs and third-party integrations
• Apply risk-based testing and support validation of regulatory and compliance requirements, including KYC/AML flows and data protection
• Maintain test documentation and evidence to support audits and reviews
• Contribute to improving testing approaches, support test automation where appropriate, and reduce repetitive testing
• Take part in release readiness assessments, go-live decisions, post-release monitoring, incident reviews and root cause analysis
• Work with Product Managers, engineers, UX designers and business stakeholders, acting as a quality advocate

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Accounting or a related field; post-graduate qualification is an advantage
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing
• Experience testing digital products in fintech, banking, payments or other regulated environments
• Hands-on experience with manual and exploratory testing
• Desirable: exposure to test automation tools, UAT support, mobile money or telco fintech ecosystems, and ISTQB or equivalent certification
