Staff Accountant – Insurance Agency

About the role

Plombon Insurance is seeking a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to manage and maintain its financial records. You will work closely with the finance team in a collaborative environment, ensuring accurate reporting and supporting the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Assist in month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Process invoices and expenses, ensuring timely payments.
• Generate financial reports and support financial analysis.
• Prepare and file state and federal tax returns.
• Participate in audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, and process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting or finance experience.
• CPA certification or progress toward CPA is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of insurance industry accounting practices is advantageous.
