Supply Chain Officer

About the role
The Supply Chain Officer will coordinate and support procurement, asset, warehouse, and fleet management functions for the IRC office in Kampala. The role ensures that all supply‑chain activities are carried out efficiently, compliantly, and with best value for money, in line with IRC SOPs and donor requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Receive, review, and process purchase requisitions and item forecasts for completeness and compliance.
- Document and track all procurement actions to maintain clear audit trails.
- Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and other sourcing tools to pre‑qualified vendors.
- Manage end‑to‑end procurement processes, including bid evaluation, purchase order issuance, and contract follow‑up.
- Coordinate deliveries with suppliers, logistics, and internal requesters to ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
- Maintain a vetted supplier database and participate in vendor performance reviews.
- Oversee asset management processes, ensuring proper care, maintenance, tracking, and accurate recording of inventory and assets.
- Support audit readiness by keeping up‑to‑date asset records and reconciliation reports.
Required profile
- Experience in procurement, logistics, or supply‑chain functions, preferably in an NGO or humanitarian setting.
- Strong knowledge of donor compliance and internal control procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
