Teller

About the role

World Vision is seeking a diligent Teller to join its finance team in Kamwokya, Uganda. The role involves handling cash transactions, managing client funds, and ensuring accurate record‑keeping in support of the organization’s mission to aid vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and disburse payments from and to clients.
• Manage and safeguard funds allocated to clients, including daily cash handling and safe storage.
• Prepare daily reports on fund availability and movement.
• Investigate any discrepancies, missing or surplus cash.
• Record all deposit and withdrawal transactions in the computer system.
• Reconcile transactions at the end of each day to ensure balances are correct.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in economics, finance or a related field with knowledge of micro‑finance.
• At least one year of professional experience as a cashier or in customer‑service banking.
• Strong understanding of cash handling procedures.
• Fluency in French and Lingala; additional local languages are a plus.
• Commitment to Christian values, honesty, discipline and courteous customer service.
• Proficiency with standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
