Videographer – Full‑time, Kampala

About the role

Vashi Impact Group is seeking a full‑time Videographer to join its Kampala office. The role will create compelling video content that showcases the organization’s research, programs and community impact while reflecting its feminist and socially inclusive values.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with program and communications teams to develop video concepts and storyboards.
• Plan, film and capture high‑quality footage in office, field and community settings, including interviews and testimonials.
• Manage audio, lighting and framing on‑site to ensure professional‑grade recordings.
• Edit footage, add motion graphics or basic animation, and perform colour correction using industry‑standard software.
• Prepare final videos for digital platforms, presentations and stakeholder communications.
• Maintain and organise camera equipment, media assets and archives.
• Follow ethical storytelling, safeguarding and safety protocols when working with conflict‑affected or vulnerable communities.

Required profile

• Relevant diploma or degree in film production, media, communications, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience shooting in diverse environments, preferably in international development, humanitarian or peacebuilding contexts.
• Commitment to feminist, socially inclusive and intersectional principles.
• Ability to work on‑site in Kampala and travel within Uganda as needed.

Required skills

• Camera operation and framing.
• Video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
• Audio set‑up and microphone handling.
• Lighting rig usage and basic colour correction.
• Motion graphics or basic animation.
