Advisor, Sustainable Financing and Partnerships

About the role

The African Wildlife Foundation is seeking an experienced Advisor to lead sustainable financing and partnership strategy for the Kidepo Valley Conservation Landscape (KVCL) in Uganda. Reporting to the Country Director and matrix‑reporting to the Vice President of Institutional Partnerships, the role supports the development of a Collaborative Management Partnership that aligns with national policies and attracts cross‑sector investment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and regularly update comprehensive political‑economy analyses and macro‑level context analytics for KVCL.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with key government ministries, Uganda Wildlife Authority, and other public entities.
• Shape financing solutions that leverage foundations, corporations, and bilateral/multilateral partners.
• Provide strategic briefings to the Country Director and inform donor account managers of emerging partnership opportunities.
• Support the Joint Technical Team in aligning the CMP with national legal, regulatory and financial frameworks.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of senior‑level experience in sustainable finance, partnership development or related fields.
• Proven track record working with government agencies and international donors in East Africa.
• Strong analytical ability to produce political‑economy and sectoral assessments.
• Executive communication skills to advise senior leadership and represent the organization in high‑level forums.
