About the role
DHL Global Forwarding is seeking a Business Development Specialist to drive growth in Uganda. You will work closely with local and regional teams to identify new opportunities, build relationships with key prospects, and expand DHL's market presence across air, ocean, and road freight services.
Key responsibilities
- Execute business development plans to achieve customer growth, revenue targets, and market‑share objectives.
- Conduct market and feasibility studies to evaluate potential segments and target groups.
- Prospect new accounts, initiate contact with decision‑makers, and understand their strategic challenges.
- Develop leads, prepare proposals, and lead negotiations to close deals.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with prospects and key accounts, coordinating with inside sales and product management.
- Collaborate with local, district and regional management to align customer requests with service offerings.
Required profile
- Proven experience in B2B sales or business development, preferably within logistics or freight forwarding.
- Strong analytical skills to assess market potential and customer needs.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and adapt processes without predefined procedures.
