About the role
The Case Management Officer will lead child protection case management for vulnerable children and their families in Nakivale Settlement, ensuring they receive comprehensive support from identification through to case closure.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct all steps of the child protection case management process for vulnerable children and families, including identification, registration, assessment, planning, implementation, follow‑up and case closure.
- Provide psychosocial and emotional support to children and families throughout the case management cycle.
- Make safe referrals to essential services and follow up to ensure needs are met.
- Liaise with community members, NGOs, government stakeholders and service providers to identify and refer children at risk.
- Maintain up‑to‑date service mapping for the geographical area and participate in inter‑agency case conferences.
- Engage in capacity‑building activities, attend regular case management meetings and contribute to team supervision.
Required profile
- Works under the direct supervision of the Case Management Coordinator.
- Experience or demonstrated ability to manage child protection cases and support families, including foster and alternative care.
- Strong interpersonal skills for community and inter‑agency coordination.
- Willingness to work onsite in Nakivale Settlement.
