Communications Officer

About the role

The Communications Officer will support ZOA Uganda in enhancing the visibility, accountability and learning of its programmes. Based in the Kampala office, the role creates high‑quality communication products for both internal and external audiences and contributes to donor‑funded project visibility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a communications and visibility plan aligned with ZOA Uganda and donor branding requirements.
• Produce content such as stories, case studies, fact sheets, briefs, articles and social‑media posts, ensuring informed consent and safeguarding.
• Capture and edit photos and short videos from field activities and maintain an organised digital archive with metadata, permissions and usage notes.
• Support programme teams with key messages, presentations, talking points and communication products for meetings, reports and donor updates.
• Coordinate with the ZOA Global Communications Unit to ensure consistent messaging and timely publication across platforms.
• Assist media engagement by drafting press releases, facilitating interviews and organising field visits.

Required profile

• Ability to produce high‑quality communication materials for diverse audiences.
• Willingness to travel regularly to field locations across Uganda.
• Understanding of donor branding and visibility guidelines.
