Director of Impact

About the role

The Director of Impact leads Water for Good’s Technical Assistance portfolio, ensuring delivery, quality and measurable results across country programs. Reporting to senior leadership, the role shapes monitoring, evaluation and learning processes to demonstrate impact and support business development.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve cross‑country issues and make strategic trade‑off decisions.
• Oversee delivery and performance of all Technical Assistance projects against grant agreements.
• Establish delivery standards, stage‑gates and review cadences for the portfolio.
• Maintain relationships with implementing partners, government agencies and WASH networks.
• Maintain a consolidated risk register and drive mitigation actions.
• Develop tools, templates and playbooks to accelerate new engagements.
• Represent the portfolio in global program and leadership forums.
• Produce accurate, on‑time donor, senior leadership and board reports.
• Set and enforce technical quality standards, including design review and field verification.
• Lead learning reviews and integrate findings into organizational strategy.
• Identify new Technical Assistance opportunities and contribute to proposals.
• Build internal capacity for consistent, high‑quality delivery.
• Lead, coach and develop direct reports.

Required profile

• Executive‑level experience (minimum 12 years) in impact measurement, monitoring & evaluation, or technical assistance.
• Proven track record managing multi‑country programs and donor‑funded projects.
• Strong leadership and people‑development skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management with governments, NGOs and donors.
