About the role
The driver will support the MOFA Japan Project by transporting authorized passengers, goods, and information while ensuring the vehicle is safe and well‑maintained. This role follows World Vision policies and contributes to humanitarian operations in the field.
Key responsibilities
- Drive World Vision vehicles to approved destinations, adhering to vehicle usage policies.
- Complete accurate vehicle log‑books for each journey and deliver packages, mail, and information as required.
- Perform pre‑journey checks (oil, water, brakes, tyre pressure, insurance, licences) and routine maintenance such as tightening bolts and topping up battery water.
- Monitor security of the vehicle, passengers, and luggage; ensure non‑staff sign waiver forms before boarding.
- Report any damages or accidents, coordinate service/repairs with the logistics officer, and submit monthly vehicle reports.
Required profile
- Minimum O‑Level Certificate.
- At least five years of driving experience in a similar context, preferably with NGOs.
- Valid driving licence (Classes B, D1, any C; Class A1 advantageous) and a Defensive Driving certificate.
- Computer literate, fluent in English (written and spoken) and knowledge of the local language.
- Practising Christian, active church member, and familiar with national road‑safety regulations.
Required skills
- Defensive Driving certification.
- Computer literacy for reporting and communication.
